NextETRUCK on ALICE stage at TRA 2026

NextETRUCK took part in the joint dissemination activities of the AEVETO cluster as part of the ALICE stand at the Transport Research Arena 2026. The four-day biennial event, held in Budapest, drew approximately 3,000 experts and stakeholders, and proved an ideal opportunity to share project updates and initial pilot results. The AEVETO cluster, which stands for Advanced Electric Vehicles for Efficient and Economic Transport Operations, represented nearly a dozen EU-funded projects promoting the decarbonisation of heavy-duty road freight vehicles.

The international event in the Hungarian capital provided an excellent platform to engage with stakeholders whilst also shedding light on the key bottlenecks hindering vehicle decarbonisation. As the dissemination partner of NextETRUCK, POLIS Network highlighted the innovative aspects and distinct potential of medium-sized trucks. This category of vehicle offers notable advantages, including access to historic city centres, viable medium-haul solutions, and an optimal pathway for decarbonising municipal fleets, as demonstrated by the Barcelona use case, which was successfully concluded several months ago. In addition, NextETRUCK partner CERTH presented a poster at TRA showcasing the integrated digital solutions developed within the NextETRUCK project.

What other activities are currently under way?

Thanks to the commitment of NextETRUCK consortium partner DAF UK, the first pilot efforts have been launched in the United Kingdom. To mark this milestone and the beginning of the collaboration with the freight operator Matthew Kibbles, which is introducing electric trucks into its fleet for the first time, a dedicated online kick-off event was held last week.

The recording of the one-hour webinar is available on the NextETRUCK YouTube channel and serves as the fitting opening instalment of our webinar series, which will continue with an introduction to the two calculation tools, KITE and TEIDE, developed by CENEX Nederland. All partners involved warmly invite you to register for the upcoming webinar.

Finally, the entire consortium cordially invites you to attend the NextETRUCK Final Conference, which will take place on 28 September 2026 during the Connecting Europe Days 2026.
