NextETRUCK to share digital twinning research results at ITS Europe Congress

NextETRUCK will share the stage with the ZEFES and H2Haul projects at the ITS European Congress 2025 in Sevilla. The special interest session ‘Digital twins: enabling efficient and cost-effective transport electrification’ takes place on Monday, 19 May from 14-15:00 in room ‘Paris F’.

Session outline:

The commercial freight sector is set to expand by 2050, particularly in medium and heavy truck modes. However, European climate goals pose challenges, necessitating the electrification of transport. Industry-wide transformation is underway, driven by initiatives like the 2ZERO partnership and ERTRAC roadmap. Digital Twins are becoming crucial in vehicle design, fleet management, and predictive maintenance, helping to cut costs and improve acceptance of electrification. This session, featuring experts from various stakeholders, will explore how Digital Twins can support electric truck development, address standardisation challenges, and enhance freight logistics efficiency within key European projects.
