NextETRUCK is presenting its progress as part of a special session at the 7th Conference on Sustainable Mobility (CSUM) 2024, which will take place from 4-6 September at Plastira’s lake, Karditsa in Greece. The special session, which is moderated by POLIS Network and is held in cooperation with the EU-funded freight projects of URBANE and ESCALATE, will take place on 4 September from 9-11:00 in the Borlero Room.
The aim of the joint session is to present all three projects, its plans and potential tests in the region of South-East Europe. The focus will be on the following two aspects: innovative solutions for vehicles, infrastructure and digital planning support, as well as the challenges related to decarbonising the entire (road) freight supply chain. An additional aspect will be the unique and holistic view on the entire supply chain, from long-haul (ESCALATE), (peri-)urban freight (NextETRUCK) to last-mile deliveries (URBANE).
The session will start with welcome words and a brief explanation of the session structure by POLIS Network, followed by spotlight presentations from all three EU-funded projects and two blocks of panel discussions, focusing on the different challenges of connecting long-haul with medium- and last-mile zero-emission freight solutions, as well as a discussion on the innovative aspects of test pilot and the related challenges of testing zero-emission freight vehicles.
