NextETRUCK can look back on a successful Transport Research Arena 2024, which took place last week from 15-18 April 2024 in Dublin, Ireland. Thanks to the fantastic coordination work of ALICE and the AEVETO cluster projects, NextETRUCK was able to present our pilot plans and innovation actions of our trucks to more than 4000 attended stakeholders.
As the first coordinated action, ALICE and the zero-emission freight projects of the AEVETO cluster have secured a stand at TRA, which allowed NextETRUCK to liaise with more than 4000 participants. Opportunities were also used to exchange with colleagues from the AEVETO clusters during lunch breaks to discuss synergies, potential events and upcoming communication opportunities.
Even though NextETRUCK did not have a dedicated presentation, joint AEVETO- and urban freight sessions have highlighted the importance of testing medium-sized zero-emission freight vehicles. During the joint session of ALICE, several operators, OEMs and the Trinity Colleague of Dublin, focusing on zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles highlighted the potential of the EU-funded AEVETO cluster projects such as NextETRUCK.
Additionally, the joint AEVETO cluster stand offered great opportunities to exchange with stakeholders, ranging from zHDV experts, OEMs, academia and even groups of students from Dublin. Thanks to our recently updated flyer, the colleagues from POLIS Network were able to update all interested participants about the project. A focus was set on the unique aspects of the peri-urban operation area and the size of the vehicles, which will roll out in Q1 2025.
